This is a men's juban, an inner garment worn between the underwear and kimono to protect the kimono from dirt.
This is a men’s juban with a modern design. It features a lined structure and is made of silk, providing a smooth and comfortable texture against the skin. The design incorporates a karakusa (arabesque) pattern, with sakura (cherry blossoms) and kiku (chrysanthemums). The matcha green color on the inside adds a beautiful touch.
The karakusa pattern, depicting vines stretching and intertwining in all directions, symbolizes strong vitality. It also represents eternal motion, prosperity, abundance, and energy. This pattern originated in the regions of Egypt and Mesopotamia, spread across the world, and arrived in Japan during the Kofun period (circa 250–538 CE).
The karakusa motif is commonly used in everyday items such as furniture, tableware, and kimono, making it a popular and familiar design.
This purple fabric has been loosely sewn on top of collar as a protective cover. It has some stains. This fabric can be easily removed, so feel free to take it off if you wish. If you would like a new fabric cover attached, please send me a message.

❝ We USE RE-USED KIMONOS and OBIS❞
We purchase Kimonos and Obis from familiar and reliable shops. We check the quality thoroughly before making it but there may be dirt that we don't notice during production, frayed fabric, wrinkles, weaving holes, scratches on the fabric, and a unique smell at the level that you don't notice. Please enjoy the taste of reused Kimonos including them. Thank you for your understanding!
