About myself

Greetings, and welcome to my little shop!　I am writing this message from my atelier in my beautiful hometown, Shizuoka City, Japan.

I'm not your typical online shop owner; in fact, I've had quite the journey to get here.

For years, I worked as an accountant for various companies, and while that gave me great experiences and opportunities to live in cool places like New York City, Tokyo, and London, something was missing. It was time to explore my real passion!

One day, while browsing a local flea market near a shrine, I stumbled upon the most breathtaking Kimonos. The beauty and elegance of these traditional garments reminded me of my childhood, when I adored lavish dresses and admired Japanese traditions like tea ceremonies and kabuki.

First, I thought I wanted to make something out of these beautiful kimono fabrics. So, I took the plunge and started attending sewing classes to learn how to craft clothing. It has a different texture and characteristic from normal fabric, so I needed to acquire some special techniques. I was very lucky to meet a great teacher who also makes clothing using kimono fabric for decades.

Along the way, I met incredible people: those who sell quality kimonos and obis, designers who work wonders with these fabrics, grandpas who used to make Japanese dolls, and ladies with expert sewing skills.

And here I am, messaging the world from a small island in the Far East, sharing the wonders of Japanese beauty and craftsmanship. It's not all sunshine and rainbows, but I absolutely love what I do. 

I've always enjoyed the journey of learning and improving little by little, and this adventure is no exception. Every day, I pour my heart into creating beautiful things and making people happy. So, come on in and explore the magic of Kimono fabrics with me!
