This is a black Eba Haori. An "Eba pattern" refers to a design in which the patterns on the haori are arranged to form a single picture across the back. The unique feature of this style is that the pattern continues seamlessly across the seams, creating the appearance of a single artwork.

This is a formal haori typically worn over formal kimono such as a homongi (semi-formal kimono). Just like Western clothing, kimono and haori also have levels of formality.

This haori (Japanese traditional jacket) is made of silk. There are many shades of black, but this is a deep black with a smooth surface and a wonderful feel against the skin. It has a nice weight to it, and when worn, the drape is beautiful.

There is a brown stain on the inside, but otherwise the haori is in good condition.

It is colorfully decorated with designs of peonies, chrysanthemums, and plum blossoms.

Peonies, with their luxurious blossoms of many overlapping petals, are called the "King of Flowers." They are a symbol of beautiful women, as they bloom large, beautiful flowers every year.

Plum blossoms, which endure the harsh cold of winter and bloom first in spring, are a symbol of "perseverance." Plum blossoms are a symbol of perseverance, vitality, and fertility, as they bloom early in the cold and bear many fruits.

Chrysanthemums are one of the most beloved patterns among the Japanese people. Because they are arranged in a radial pattern, they are likened to the sun and are ranked at the top among all flowers.

All the kimonos I handle are pre-owned. While the condition of items on the market varies, I carefully select only from stores where I personally inspect and touch each piece to ensure they are in good condition, with beautiful patterns and colors, and made of quality fabric.

After purchase, I sometimes discover minor stains, spots or scratches, but if the item is still perfectly wearable, these details are clearly noted in the description. Stains and spots may be due to age or wear, which is also documented. Please feel free to message me with any questions, or if you have specific requests for what you're looking for.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

・Dry cleaning recommended

・Ironing it on a medium-high setting. Garments may also be steamed in a moderate setting.

・Cover the tapestry with a cloth when ironing.

・Please note that actual colors may vary slightly due to your computer resolution and monitor color restrictions.
