These placemats are made from obi, the belts worn around the waist like a belt when wearing a kimono. All the materials are silk. Since kimonos used for special occasions ('haregi') tend to have bright colors and auspicious designs, the placemats reflect this celebratory style.
1.Green Obi: Features a basket and poppy-like flower design, with a slightly modern touch.
2.Brown Obi: Has a somewhat intriguing or even slightly spooky design! It depicts scenes from Noh, a traditional Japanese dance form. You can see men wearing masks as they perform.
3.Beige Obi: Showcases a traditional obi design with Mandarin ducks. These ducks are believed to mate for life, symbolizing marital harmony and a happy marriage.
