Fast-forward from My Coming-of-Age Ceremony Kimono (a Little Over 20 Years Ago, Haha),
The photo was taken in London in 2018. At that time, I was working as an accountant in London for nearly three years, starting in the summer of 2017.
When I left Japan, I thought, "I probably won’t have opportunities to wear this," but I still decided to bring my full kimono set with me—just in case. However, shortly after arriving in London, I was surprised to meet a Japanese woman who happened to be a licensed kimono dressing instructor (kitsuke-shi)! What an unexpected encounter.
Thanks to her, I had the opportunity to wear my kimono and attend a gathering at her friend’s house. This photo was taken on that occasion—such a nostalgic memory.
Even in London, whenever I walked around in kimono, I received so many compliments on how beautiful it looked.
二十歳の成人式の着物から（20年ちょっと笑）時を早めて写真は2018年のロンドンです。2017年の夏から3年弱、ロンドンで会社員として働いていた頃の写真です。日本を出る時、「着る機会はまあないだろうな〜」と思いつつ、一応持って行った着物一式ですが、ロンドンに到着して早々にお世話になった日本人女性の方が着付の免許を持つ先生でした！いきなりの出会いにびっくり。早速着物を着てその方の友人の家にお呼ばれする機会がありました。その時に撮った一枚です。懐かしい。。。
ロンドンでも着物で歩いているときに綺麗だとお褒めの言葉を何度もいただきました。
